OBNINSK FILTERS GROUP has extensive experience in solving problems of cleaning gaseous media in the food industry. Equipment for the purification of steam and gases with a capacity from 10 l/h to 500 m3 /h
Filter elements made of fluoroplastic-4 and ultrahigh-molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE) clean the air from dropping liquid due to its hydrophobicity - a property that does not allow water to penetrate into fine pores until a certain excess pressure is reached. Moisture and oil vapors have higher dynamic viscosity values than dynamic viscosity values of air and other gases, and efficient separation of water and oil vapor occurs on the surface of the hydrophobic filtering layer. Since the main pollutants of both organic and inorganic nature are in gases in aerosol particles, the filtration purification of gases causes their drying and purification from impurities of different nature at the same time.
The hydrophobicity of the filtering materials is a significant positive difference between the filtering elements of fluoroplast-4 and UHMWPE from the elements used for the same purpose from porous metals and metal ceramics. The undoubted advantage of fluoroplast-4 and UHMWPE is their almost absolute inertness and neutrality, i.e. materials in no way affect the medium being filtered and do not change themselves under the action of the medium being filtered.
For the purification of gases, it is recommended to use a cascade two-three-stage purification system. The first two steps & are dust, moisture, oil separation and the production of clean dried gas. Third stage is production of sterile gas.
At the first stage, gas is pre-cleaned using filter elements made of modified brand polyethylene ECOPLAST-PE-G or fluoroplastic-4 brand ECOPLAST-FG with a particle retention threshold of 5 μm. The final cleaning should be done as close as possible to the points of use, using hydrophobic depth or membrane filter elements made of fluoroplastic of the trade mark ECOPLEN-F-G with a particle retention threshold of 0.5 or 0.2 μm.
The proposed filtering materials are hydrophobic, and since moisture and oil vapors have higher dynamic viscosity than gas dynamic viscosity, efficient separation of water and oil vapors occurs on the surface of the filter layer, resulting dry and clean gas. To obtain sterile air, a hydrophobic membrane element with a filtration rating of 0.2 μm is used.
The multi-layered structure of the filter elements provides increased dirt holding capacity, and in terms of the work resource, the elements are not inferior to foreign analogues. High thermochemical stability of filter elements allows filtering of any, including highly aggressive media in a wide range of temperatures (from -30 to 180°C). There is a possibility of sterilization in accordance with the requirements of OST 42-21-2-85, multiple regeneration and reuse of filter elements.
Steam is an aggressive environment. Mechanical and aerosol inclusions in the form of scale, soot, moisture vapor and oil are due to the method of obtaining steam and its transportation to the place of use. Steam cleaning is also proposed to be carried out in one or two stages, using hydrophobic fluoroplastic-4 filter elements. Fluoroplast-4 filter elements operating temperature – up to 170°C. The choice of the filter element retention threshold depends on the task.
To meet the challenges of gas cleaning, special-designed filter housings are manufactured that have a condensate trap with a drain valve. Obninsk Filters produces a series of filter housings, the choice of which depends on the volume (mass) gas flow.
Single-cartridge filter housings are designed to clean steam at the points of use at a rate of up to 80 kg/h. They are installed in-line caps down to the possibility of collecting and discharge of condensate. Connection to the line with quick-release clamps.
Multi-cartridge filter housings DMPM-НС-300-500 brands are intended for use in cleaning processes from mechanical particles and moisture of large volumes of gases or steam (up to 500 cubic meters per hour).
These filter housings are made of stainless steel and consist of a body with five seats for the filter elements and a cylindrical cap with a pressure gauge. The body has an elliptical bottom, which acts as a condensate collector. A pipe for condensate discharge is welded to the bottom.
The internal volume of the filter housing does not exceed 25 l therefore it is not subject to the restriction “the manufacture and operation of pressure vessels”.
By special order, such filter housings are made with thermal protection of polyurethane foam.
